It is unfortunately rumoured that Arabs are a nation that does not read. Rates of reading, book printing and trading in the Arab world have declined sharply in recent decades. This risks disrupting the new generation's relationship with books published in Arabic — one of the world's richest languages in vocabulary and rhetorical style, and a source of our unity and the foundation of our identity.يشاع — للأسف — عن العرب أنهم أمة لا تقرأ. فلقد شهدت معدّلات القراءة وطباعة الكتب وتداولها في الوطن العربي تراجعًا شديدًا خلال العقود الأخيرة، وهذا قد يؤدي إلى اضطراب علاقة الجيل الجديد بقراءة الكتب الصادرة باللغة العربية، التي تُعَدّ واحدة من أغنى لغات العالم بالمفردات والأساليب البلاغية المتنوعة، علاوة على أنها مصدر وحدتنا وأساس هويتنا.
